Locking lips is way more important than you might think when it comes to getting busy between the sheets.

People have tossed around all sorts of ideas about why we kiss. From the romantic notion of soul connection by the Ancient Greeks to the more pragmatic theory suggesting it's just a leftover instinct from when mother birds fed their babies mouth-to-mouth.

But here's the juicy part: Scientists have nailed down why kissing matters, especially in the game of attraction.

Turns out, when we lock lips, we're subconsciously sniffing out our potential partners. Women, with their super-sensitive taste and smell senses, can pick up on all sorts of info from saliva and skin oils, like pheromonal and hormonal cues.

Translation: It's a big deal when it comes to sparking sexual chemistry.

Try not to underestimate the power of a good smooch in keeping the flame alive. If you're in a long-term relationship but avoiding kisses, this may have a detrimental effect on your sex life.

Relationship expert, Paul C. Brunson shared that most married couple kiss for on average 1 second per week. That’s right, per week. His challenge & recommendation for couples is to aim to kiss for on average 6 seconds per day to really get the juices flowing!

Kissing is often a VIP pass to awesome sex - it's all about setting the mood and building that intimate connection. Remember those steamy make-out sessions from your teen years? Yeah, they're not just nostalgia - they're key to keeping things hot and heavy.

So, when was the last time you really went for it with your partner? If it's been a while, it's high time to reignite that passion. Trust us, you’ll be thanking us later.
